Welcome

Sticky

I’m an ambisextrous martial artist, geek, and Princeton alumna, who always dreamt of becoming a writer, but got sidetracked by living abroad in Asia and a career as a lawyer. You can see my most recent work on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow on the CW. And you can find out more about me in my bio below.

Born in New York City to Black and Latinx parents, Ms. Valle’s first endeavor into writing was an untitled project from elementary school that chronicled her adventures on the school bus. But her next foray into writing wouldn’t be until years later when Buffy went off the air and she created her own “Season Eight” (long before the comics).

In the meantime, she went to Princeton, where she competed in Taekwondo at the collegiate level–eventually placing third at collegiate nationals. After graduation, she spent three and a half years in Seoul, Korea, where she continued her Taekwondo training and earned both her third-degree black belt and a master’s in Korean Studies. Upon her return to the States, she enrolled in law school and did a semester abroad in Tokyo, Japan. Ms. Valle then graduated law school with honors and went on to work as a litigation attorney at the prestigious international law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York.

After realizing that the law isn’t for everyone, she resigned from her position as an attorney and enrolled in Tisch’s Summer Dramatic Writing Program. Ms. Valle knew that she made the right decision when one of her professors told her that she was “meant to do this.”

Since her summer at Tisch, she has participated in the 2010 National Hispanic Media Coalition Television Writers Program and the 2018 National Hispanic Media Coalition Latino Scriptwriters Intensive. A deleted scene from her superhero dramedy was selected for the WGAW LGBTQ Scene 14 and a networking group she’s in, Black Women Who Brunch, was featured in The Hollywood Reporter’s 2018 Women in Entertainment Special Issue. Most recently, she was a Story Editor on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and has also written for Mech Cadets, Elena of Avalor, Vampirina, Puppy Dog Pals, Polly Pocket, The Mighty Ones, Rosie’s Rules, and Action Pack.

A lifelong genre fan, she often uses genre to explore sociopolitical issues while being entertaining. But she’s a sucker for anything with comedy and heart. Ms. Valle has written an original supernatural teen drama, an original supernatural legal dramedy, an original superhero dramedy, an original fantasy dramedy, and is currently working on an original light procedural.

A longtime martial artist, Ms. Valle has been a Taekwondo instructor, coach, competitor, and referee. Currently, she trains in the Israeli self-defense system, Krav Maga.

Ms. Valle is also on the Steering Committee of the Think Tank for Inclusion & Equity (TTIE) and is Chair of the Animation Guild’s POC Writers Subcommittee. She can speak Korean and some basic Japanese.
